Purpose:
In September of 2018, I started LayoutInspector.com. My goal is to bring together different resources online related to layout inspection and dimensional measurement. As the internet grows, it’s becoming easier to find this information. Years ago it was different though and I had to struggle a bit. I’d like to make it easier for the next generation of learners as they chart their own self-directed course. There are many businesses, institutions and people trying to help streamline the process.
About the Author:
I have a job working in dimensional measurement. I’ve been involved with this type of work for nearly two decades. Out of respect for my employer and to avoid any conflicts of interest, I’ve elected not to publish my personal identity at this time. I’d like to, I think it would help me connect with more people online. Hopefully you will understand the situation. I also will not use the workplace for photos or articles. As much as I’d enjoy doing so, I think it’s best that I create this website the hard way and gather what I need on my own. Fortunately, the amount of publicly available information to read, and equipment to buy is vast enough that this isn’t a problem.
Future:
As time allows, I’ll also create more content in addition to the current progress being made in book and website indexing blog posts. I don’t want this to simply be an index site. I have some ideas for web products and video tutorials.
Funding:
Who funds this? So far I do. It’s my hobby.
What I get out of this:
I hope you enjoy the website and reach out to me with any thoughts you may have. I’m always looking for encouragement, criticism, suggestions and tips. This applies to both the subject of the website and the site itself.
